Welcome to The Holocaust Explained web resource for KS4 (14 - 16 yrs).

These two happy little boys (Paul and Rudi) lived in Berlin, Germany during the 1930s.

Life was becoming difficult for German Jewish families, so their mother took Paul and Rudi for a 'holiday' in England.

Their father moved to safety in the Netherlands with his job.

Whist they were in England Paul and Rudi's little sister, Eve was born.

The family joined their father in the Netherlands where they shared the happiest of times.

The Nazis invaded the Netherlands. The family were sent to Westerbork, then Bergen-Belsen where the children's parents fell ill and died.
