Simon's father prepares an escape

Simon was born in 1938 in a town called Radyviliv (pronounced Radjivilov), which was at the time in Poland (now in the Ukraine). Simon’s family lived a normal life in the town, with the Jewish and non-Jewish communities living in relative harmony.

In 1939 the town was invaded by the Soviet Union. Life didn’t change too much under the Russians.

However, in 1941 the German army invaded the area. Life changed dramatically for the Jewish population. Simon's father knew he had to make plans for the family to escape the Germans.

Watch Simon’s testimony and learn what happened and how they escaped.
